ALLISON CHARNEY
Soprano Allison Charney is celebrated for her lush sound, vocal agility, and compelling dramatic interpretations across a wide range of operatic roles. She has performed leading soprano parts with companies across the U.S., including New York City Opera, Florida Grand Opera, and Atlanta Opera. Her repertoire spans Puccini, Mozart, Verdi, and Offenbach, and includes standout roles such as Musetta in La Bohème, Tosca, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and all three heroines in The Tales of Hoffmann.

An accomplished concert artist, Ms. Charney has appeared as a soloist with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Pops, and in her Carnegie Hall debut with the song cycle Forgotten Voices. Her dedication to contemporary classical music has led to premieres of works by Kim D. Sherman, Moshe Knoll, Nilo Alcala, and others, including performances in Ukraine and at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. She is also featured on multiple acclaimed recordings with AVIE and Navona Records.
Ms. Charney’s upcoming album ALIKE: My Mother’s Dream will spotlight new works by international composers alongside the first English-language recording of Amy Beach’s Jephthah’s Daughter. She is the creator and host of PREFORMANCES™️ with Allison Charney, co-creator of the WQXR-featured Her/Music; Her/Story, and a voting member of the Recording Academy. A magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University with advanced degrees from Peabody Conservatory, she lives in New York City with her husband and two sons.
